Large Scan Data Handling : Dynamic Disk Caching System  
  Able to handle hundreds of millions of data points with the highest performance
rapidformXO is built from the ground up to minimize system resource use and maximize performance when processing massive data sets from the newest generation of 3D scanners. Using an advanced memory management system (Dynamic Disk Caching), rapidformXO dynamically allocates system memory during scan data processing operations. This highly optimized technology allows rapidformXO to shatter existing data handling barriers and handle virtually limitless amounts of 3D scan data. The software has been successfully tested to register multiple scans in excess of 300 million points on a dual 3 GHz Xeon PC with 2GB of RAM, and there is no theoretical limitation to the number of points that rapidformXO can process.
 
Performance & Accuracy : True Parallel & Multi-threaded Processing  
  Highest performance and most accurate data processing with cutting edge algorithms
rapidformXO truly supports multi-CPU systems. rapidformXO's geometric algorithms are designed to fully utilize several CPUs simultaneously. Benchmark test results reveal that it is faster and offers more accurate scan registration than any other popular 3D scanning software. In general, rapidformXO is 3-4 times as fast and 4-5 times more accurate than comparable applications. In a typical real world application test, rapidformXO was able to import, triangulate, register, merge, and decimate a 100 million point data set in less than 40 minutes. rapidformXO's advanced registration algorithms minimize overall error distribution among overlapped scan shots and preserve original crease edges after merging most accurately.
 
Leading Edge User Interface : Intuitive, Easy-to-Use GUI

One of most distinctive features that users will quickly notice when using rapidformXO is the enhancement in the user interface for the ease-of-use of the software. Using logical selection and entity trees, rapidformXO presents the user with all the information he needs concisely and unobtrusively. Using state-of-the-art 3D viewport based menu trees, the software eliminates the need for pop-up windows and minimizes user operations needed to run a command. The figure below shows a typical screenshot of rapidformXO, with multiple customizable 3D views, selection icons, the project tree, a memory & disk usage indicator, command history window, backup and restore functions and console window.
 
     
 
 
RapidForm™ vs rapidformXO™
RapidForm has been a comprehensive reverse modeling suite for all 3D scanner users who need to process their 3D raw scan data into polygons, curves and surfaces for their applications. 9 different workbenches of rapidform2006 have effectively met all the different needs from a wide variety of customer basis so far. However, as performance of 3D scanners has been greatly enhanced there has arisen a new crucial issue that needs to be addressed by 3D scan data processing software like rapidformXO. When the initial version of RapidForm, RapidForm1.5, was released in 1999, commonly used 3D scan data size was about tens of thousand or hundreds of thousand points. However, even though the polygon processing kernel of RapidForm has been continually upgraded from RapidForm1.5 to rapidform2006, the need for massive scan data handling resulted from the rapid enhancement in 3D scanning hardware cannot be fully addressed by simply modifying and optimizing the existing geometric processing kernel

rapidformXO is the most powerful full-featured application for 3D scan data processing currently available. Complimenting the popular rapidform2006 product lineup, rapidformXO provides unrivaled data handling, accuracy and speed capabilities all via a leading edge interface. Employing a new purpose-built geometric kernel, rapidformXO was designed from scratch with a focus on massive scan data handling, performance, ease of use, and calculation accuracy.
Key themes that have driven the development of rapidformXO are shown in the figure below. Starting from large data handling, which originally motivated the development of rapidformXO, ease of use, stability, performance & accuracy, feature richness and flexibility have been the main objectives in developing rapidformXO.
The geometric kernel of rapidformXO is completely redesigned from scratch by placing top priority on large scan data processing from the very beginning of the development stage. rapidformXO not only uses much less system resources compared with rapidform2006 when processing same size scan data but also adopted an advanced memory management system, which dynamically allocates system memory depending on the types of scan data processing operations. Also, GUI of rapidformXO is based on a state-of-art technology of Windows user interface, which can be certainly considered as one of the most ergonomic user interface software in the market.
